Why don't you make the steel balls spin?
2019 - 2020
Video game, photography
A project about the complicated ideological changes in China. Steel balls were once widely seen on socialist modernist buildings and mosques in China. People also held steel balls in their hands and make them spin to pursue health (symbolized by the pine tree in Chinese culture). The spring inside makes a noise. I made a steel ball spinning video game to express the absurdity of sacred spaces.
