(An Odyssey of Yaoyao)

As our lives become increasingly dependent on location and mapping, isn't it time to question the continuity of spatial perception provided by maps?

Yaoyao, which means shaking, is a crude replica of the cartoon characters commonly found in front of Chinese grocery stores, a coin-operated vehicle that stays in place and provides children a short shaking “trip”. The website shows real-time information from a BeiDou satellite, but Yaoyao doesn't arrive anywhere because of the mapping problem.
